AICTE To Follow SC Guidelines in Admission Process To Engineering Courses All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE), Tuesday, announced that academic sessions of all technical, professional classes should begin from August 1 next year all over the country. Actually AICTE has handed over a time table for admission process which technical education department of each state will have to adhere to from the next academic session. So henceforth no state would be allowed to carry the admission to the engineering and technical professional courses for months together.

M K Hada, AICTE Advisor-I while making this announcement at a seminar being held at Ahmedabad in Gujarat said that, the time table has been made according to the Supreme Court guidelines.

Accordingly, the states will have to seek permission for new colleges before April 30, 2013. By June end, the first round of admission should be completed. The second round of admission should be completed on July 10 and the third round should be finished by July 20. Academic sessions in all technical colleges should begin on August 1, 2013. In the past the colleges were granted permissions as late as June or even July completely jeopardizing the admission process.

Any institutes found violating the dates as specified in the time table, will be served with the notices as per the Supreme Court guidelines. Officials said that any student admitted after July 30 will not be enrolled by the universities and not recognized as a student by AICTE.
