Candidates with 60% in Class 12 in 2012 Board Exam Can take JEE 2013 As per an announcement by IIT’s Joint Admission Board (JAB), a decision has been taken that the 2012 pass-outs of class 12 shall be allowed to take the JEE-2013. The decision has been taken in the interest of the aspirants for smooth transition from IIT JEE to two tier JEE in the new pattern.

The JAB has said that the Top 20 percentile rule will be applicable only to students who will give their qualifying board exam next year (2013). As such IIT aspirants who appeared for their Class XII board exams in 2012 and planning to take an attempt at JEE Advance 2013, the eligibility criteria will remain the same as that used for IIT JEE 2012. It means that they will be able to appear for JEE Advance 2013, with a minimum class XII score of 60% marks. SC, ST or PD students who have scored 55% marks in their board exams in 2012 will be eligible too. This concession will only be a one-time concession to students, only for JEE 2013.

However, foreign students will be considered eligible for JEE Advance 2013, on the basis of Top 20 percentile cut-offs in CBSE Class XII board examinations.
