CDAC Pune To Host Symposium on Bioinformatics A three-day symposium on bioinformatics, targeted at students and researchers from academic institutes, universities and bioinformatics industries, is going to be held between February 20 and 22 in Pune.

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Pune (C-DAC Pune), who is going to host the symposium, has said in a statement that the symposium will comprise invited talks from eminent academicians from esteemed institutes.

Talks by experts will address the challenges in the areas of structure and dynamics of biomolecules, computational genomics, application in human health, plants, animals, microbes, algorithms, system biology among others. This symposium intends to bring together researchers in various domains of human health, agriculture, live-stock and environment who are using advanced computational biology tools to solve scientific problems in their respective domains.

Eminent speakers including Venugopal Nair, Institute of Animal Health United Kingdom; Kalyan Gayen, National Institute of Technology Agartala; Leelavati Narlikar, National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) Pune; Pramod Wangikar, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay among others, will speak during the three-day symposium, the statement said.

The symposium will be hosted by Bioinformatics Resources and Applications Facility (BRAF) of C-DAC. BRAF is an effort providing high-end supercomputing facility to the researchers working in the areas of Bioinformatics.
