4-year bachelor's program at delhi university The Delhi University (DU) authorities have been working on designing new 4-year bachelor’s degree programs, likely to be introduced in the next year for first-year students. The DU held an academic congress, which had around 3000 students and parents participation, to know about the their aspirations, what is expected of the university, sports and extra curricular activities etc. The university authorities are formulating the new curriculum based on cues like integrated syllabi, flexibility to opt for varied subjects, quality IT capability, project, field work and internship opportunities in every discipline.

The four-year program will have scheme for collecting credit points, which may be used for lateral entry to PG courses and also exit options. Credit points will be awarded for both academics and extra-curricular activities as well. The available exit options shall be, after 2 years the student for which will be awarded a diploma, after 3 years a general degree as being awarded in the present scheme, and honours degree to those completing the 4 years.

There has been mixed reaction to the introduction of the new format from the teachers, however most are found to be in favour.
