Maharashtra SET Exam on February 17

Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (SET) Exam will be held on 17 February 2013 as announced by University of Pune (UoP), which is an agency authorised by University Grants Commission (UGC) to conduct the eligibility test prescribed for working in the position of lecturer in UGC approved colleges.

About 40,000 candidates appear for the test conducted by the UoP in Maharashtra and Goa. The exam which is normally held in the month of November every year has been deferred this year until February 2013 due to delay in receiving the approval by the UoP, which it has to renew every three years from UGC.

Due to the postponement of the Maharashtra SET, the candidates will also get enough time to prepare as earlier it was feared that the dates may be closed as the National Eligibility Test (NET) is scheduled to be held on 23rd December.

The test will be conducted in objective mode and will consist of three papers to be held in two separate sessions. As per the new pattern, the third paper will also carry objective type questions, the circular says. Paper I and II consists of 100 marks each while paper III carries 150 marks.

Applications can be filled online between December 11 and 31 while the hard copy will be accepted till January 8. The admit cards will be provided to all candidates ten days before the exam, said a statement issued by the UoP.

Visit Official Site of SET for more information and applying online and previous years question papers of SET.
