With the campus placements season around, a survey conducted by a job site dedicated to fresher recruitment, indicates that there will be drop in number of fresher recruitment over the campuses. The survey was done by Firstnaukri.com, an online portal which is exclusively aimed at searching jobs for fresh candidates.
The findings indicate, around 56% of the 125 recruiters surveyed said that the campus placements in 2013 will be lesser.The survey was conducted with recruiters across sectors to gauge an understanding on the campus hiring outlook for 2013-14 and the key challenges faced by them on-campus.
About 50% of the recruiters who hire engineers said that they would be visiting less colleges and would hire in less numbers, while remaining 50% claimed that there is no change in their outlook of hiring fresher and would be same as last year.
The companies hiring management students were also observed not much optimistic about the campus placements. 53% of the IT sector recruiters said that there is no change in their campus interviews and hiring numbers and colleges campuses they would visit in 2013 as compared to last year, while 47% were of the opinion that they could not maintain the same pace.
Commenting on the finding, Deepali Singh, Business Head, Firstnaukri.com said, “Amid the economic uncertainty, most companies are cautious about their campus hiring and do not want to go overboard. However, as the survey suggests companies will still continue to hire but may lower numbers when compared to previous years.”
