Andhra Pradesh to Join NEET in 2014 Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has said that, the state is strongly opposed to National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), the nation wide exam to decide admissions to the undergraduate medical programs, to be held in 2013. The Chief Minister recently had meeting with Union Health Minister and conveyed the unwillingness of the state to hold the exam in 2013. However the State of Andhra will participate in the exam in 2014.

While the Chief Minister is expecting the formal announcement from MCI to that effect any time soon, has advised the intermediate second year students to prepare for EAMCET, the state common entrance instead of NEET.

CM cited the reason that current intermediate second year syllabus can not prepare the state students to compete at national level. However since the syllabus for the intermediate first year has been changed from the current academic year and has been brought at par with CBSE, the students shall be in position to compete in nationwide NEET in 2014 only.
