CBSE Announces NEET 2013 Exam Schedule Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has finally announced the dates for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2013), the nationwide medical entrance prescribed for admissions to MBBS and BD programs. The first ever single test as national level medical entrance shall be held on 5th May 2013.

NEET will cater to admissions to all government and private medical and dental colleges in the country on the basis of its merit list. Over 10 lakh students are expected to take this examination. NEET 2013 exam scores will be used for admissions to a total of 355 medical colleges in the country.

CBSE will be conduction the NEET in English, Hindi and those regional languages in which the tests were held earlier. Besides, the reservation of seats in medical and dental colleges in respective categories will be as per applicable laws prevailing in states or union territories.

There will be no interference in such reservations and quotas as decided by the state governments and private medical colleges. Medical Council of India (MCI) has already notified that the Board will be conducting the test for entry to medical and dental colleges in the country.

The online application has already opened from 1st December.

Eligibility Criteria : In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS courses for a particular academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum of marks at 50% in NEET. However, in respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, the minimum marks shall be at 40%. In respect of general candidates with disability of lower limbs, the minimum marks shall be at 45%. The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in All Indian Common Merit List in NEET. Indian nationals and overseas citizens of India (OCI) are eligible for appearing in the NEET 2013.

Age Limit : He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS course. The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India quota seats is 25 years as on 31 December of the year of the medical entrance exam. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST/OBC category.

Exam Admit Card : The CBSE will provide the facility of downloading exam admit card for NEET 2013 test from the official website . Exam admit card will not be sent by post. The schedule of hosting exam admit card is available on the official website as above.

  • Submission of Forms (Online) : Dec 1 to Dec 31, 2012
  • Receipt of Confirmation Page at CBSE : 10 Jan 2013
  • Submission of Forms with Late Fee : Jan 1 to Jan 31, 2013
  • Receipt of Confirmation of Page at CBSE with Late Fee (Rs.1000) : 2 Feb 2013
