IIMs Announce Fees Hike, Some to Hike Seats Just after a day of IITs announcing a fees of 80%, the IIM-A (IIM Ahmedabad), the top ranking among all the premier B-Schools has also announced the fee hike on Tuesday. The fee hike will be applicable to 2013-15 batch.

The fee for Post-Graduate Programme (PGP) students of the 2012-2014 batch of IIM-A for their first academic year was approximately Rs 7.4 lakh. IIM-A, in 2008, announced a nearly six-time increase in fee, from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 11.5 lakh for its flagship two-year PGP course in management. The fee was increased in the next two years to Rs 15.5 lakh for the 2012-14 batch. Now the IIM-A will be charging 16.6 lakhs of total fee for the 2013-15 batch, it said.

IIM Kozikode and IIM Calcutta charged Rs.10 lakhs for the 2012-14 batch and is yet to announce any hike. However, comparatively new IIM Raipur has hiked its fees by 60,000 from 9 lakhs it charged earlier.

It is expected that IIM Bangalore may announce its hike in the next week. The current tuition fee is at 13 lakhs, which was set just last year.

IIMs Kashipur and IIM Kozikode have decided to increase the intake. IIM Kashipur has proposed to hike the intake from current 40 to 90 and IIM Kozikode will increase the seats from 360 to 400. However, IIM Calcutta is contemplating to decrease the content from 463 to 450.
