New UPSC Exam Format Put On Hold The recent changes incorporated in the exam pattern of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), which impose a condition of minimum 25 candidates to appear the exam in regional language at a centre and give added predominance to English, met fierce opposition in the Parliament cutting across the party lines.

Members of Parliament (MPs) argued that the condition of requirement of minimum 25 candidates to opt the exam in regional language at a test centre will make injustice to the candidates coming from the rural background and also to those who did their graduation in the regional language.
