Maharashtra Joins JEE The Maharashtra State Cabinet on Wednesday is learnt to have decided to participate in national engineering entrance JEE 2014 with scores of both the JEE Main and Std. XII Board exam to be considered on 50:50 basis. It was confirmed that the state will be part of the new Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) from 2014-15 academic session. In the announcement made after the State Cabinet decision, the statement said that the advantage of becoming a part of JEE admission system was that students would have to take only one entrance exam, which would suffice for IIT too, which would particularly help the students from the rural areas of the state.

The Cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan also decided to upgrade the State curriculum of the Standard 12 Board to to match the JEE by next year.
